Introduction
We visited Landal Miggelenberg as a big multigenerational group - me, my husband, our four girls (including one‑year‑old twins at the time), plus my parents. We needed space, easy entertainment, and a park that worked for a wide range of ages.
Miggelenberg turned out to be a brilliant fit. It’s calm, green, and full of simple activities that kept all the children happy, from toddlers to six‑year‑olds. If you’re considering this park for a family holiday, here’s our honest experience.
Location
Landal Miggelenberg is set in a peaceful woodland area in the Netherlands. It has that classic “forest holiday” feel - tall trees, winding paths, and a sense of being tucked away from the world.
It’s also well placed for day trips, though we found the park itself had more than enough to keep us busy, especially with young children.
First Impressions: Look, Feel & Layout
The park feels spacious, natural, and wonderfully relaxed. Cottages are spread out among the trees, giving families privacy and room to breathe. The paths are quiet and safe, which made it easy for our older girls to explore a little more independently.
It’s the kind of place where you can wander to the facilities without dodging cars, where the woodland setting adds a bit of magic, and where everything feels calm and unhurried.
Accommodation
We stayed in a four‑bedroom cottage, and it worked perfectly for our group of six plus grandparents next door.
Space & Comfort
The cottage was:
- Basic but clean
- Surprisingly spacious, even with one‑year‑old twins
- Well laid out for family life
- Comfortable for a large group
We had plenty of room for travel cots, toys, and all the usual toddler paraphernalia without feeling cramped. It’s not luxury accommodation, but it’s practical, family‑friendly, and exactly what you need for a woodland holiday.
Activities & Entertainment for Kids
Miggelenberg is fantastic for younger children - our girls (aged 1, 1, 4, and 6 at the time) had so much to do.
Bollo Activities
Sweet, simple, and perfect for little ones who love character‑led fun.
Mini Disco
A classic holiday park staple and always a hit with our older two.
Glitter Tattoos & Hair Braids
A lovely treat and a great way to make the holiday feel special.
Marshmallow Toasting
Cosy, wholesome, and ideal for the woodland setting.
Animal Caretaker Activity (The Standout Experience)
This was the absolute highlight of the trip.
The children got to:
- Meet the animals
- Feed them
- Learn how to care for them
- Ask questions
- Get hands‑on in a safe, supervised way
It was thoughtful, well‑run, and genuinely memorable - the kind of activity they talked about for weeks afterwards.
Play Areas
One of the biggest strengths of Miggelenberg is the variety of play spaces.
Large Central Play Park
Brilliant for children aged 6 and up, with plenty to climb, swing, and explore. Our older girls loved it.
Smaller Play Park Near Our Cottage
Perfect for younger children - from walking age up to around 6.
This was ideal for quick play sessions before meals or when the twins needed a change of scenery.
Soft Play by the Bar & Bowling Area
A small but incredibly handy soft play space that was perfect for our girls aged six and under.
It meant we could enjoy a drink or a relaxed moment while they played safely nearby.
Swimming Pool
The pool at Miggelenberg is reasonably basic, but the extra features around it make it fantastic for younger children.
There were:
- Shallow areas
- Small slides
- Gentle water play zones
- Plenty of space for little ones to splash confidently
It’s not a huge complex, but for families with children up to around 10, it’s absolutely ideal.
Overall Thoughts
Landal Miggelenberg is a wonderful choice for families with young children, especially if you’re travelling as a larger group or with grandparents. We loved:
- The spacious, practical accommodation
- The calm woodland setting
- The variety of age‑appropriate play areas
- The child‑friendly pool
- The brilliant soft play near the bar
- The standout animal caretaker activity
- The relaxed, easygoing atmosphere
It’s a park full of simple pleasures - the kind of holiday where kids are happily entertained, toddlers have space to roam, and adults can actually unwind.
